Castration (male dog neutering)

£320-£492

Castrating your male dog prevents them from reproducing, and can help with certain challenging behaviours. We recommend discussing the decision with one of our vets, as there are various factors to consider, especially when it comes to puppies.

Pricing

Neutering procedures vary by sex, species and weight. Large dogs need more medications than smaller dogs. The procedure will also take a longer time. This price range covers a 5kg dog to a 50kg one. We can give you a more accurate estimate once we know what your dog weighs.

Dentistry

Explore dental assessment, cleaning and extractions.

Complete dental assessment and treatment

£750-£
Offered atLondon Fieldshub

Description

Complete dental assessment and treatment is available for both cats and dogs. Pre-anaesthetic blood testing, full dental X-rays, a scale and polish under general anaesthetic and IV fluids are included. The procedure takes around 2 hours.

X-rays allow us to assess the health of your pet's teeth and roots, and to determine whether extractions are needed. If minor extractions are required, we may be able to complete this work in a single procedure. If multiple teeth need removing, we’re likely to recommend additional dental treatment at a later date. We'll be able to give you an accurate cost estimate for any additional treatment once the assessment stage is complete.

Pricing

We offer this service at a fixed price of £750 for all cats and dogs. If your pet requires multiple extractions, we’re likely to recommend additional dental treatment and will be able to give you an accurate cost estimate once the assessment stage is complete.

Additional dental treatment

£750-£
Offered atLondon Fieldshub

Description

If our vet identifies that your pet needs multiple extractions during their dental assessment, this follow-up procedure covers the anaesthetic and surgical extractions themselves. We carry out any extractions under general anaesthetic, with a clear plan in place thanks to the complete dental assessment. This approach means less risk, better planning, and healthier mouths.

We typically book additional treatment in a month after the first dental procedure. Evidence shows that, following a thorough clean, diseased teeth often improve over time, reducing the number and cost of extractions needed.

Pricing

We cap the price of additional dental treatment at £750 for all cats and dogs. If your pet requires minor extractions, we may be able to offer this at a price below £750. We’ll be able to give you an accurate estimate of the extractions required and what this will cost after your assessment.

Microchipping

£35-£

Description

We use the smallest microchip available. Microchipping is a legal requirement for dogs and cats, helping ensure you can be reunited with your pet if they go missing.

Pricing

Our microchipping service is available at a fixed cost of £35, carried out by one of our registered veterinary nurses.

Prescription

£16-£

Description

We're happy to write your dog or puppy's prescription, so you can buy medicines directly from your local pharmacy/online pharmacy.

Pricing

This needs to be done by a veterinary surgeon. It's a more time-consuming process than dispensing it ourselves. We have a fixed charge for a written prescription, which we aim to keep the lowest in the area.

Please note, a vet consultation might be needed in order to issue a prescription. This is because we are legally required to make sure that medicines are safe and appropriate for your pet and they have been examined within an appropriate time frame.

Animal health certificate

£250-£

Description

To journey with your dog or puppy, certain destinations ask for an Animal Health Certificate. Our seasoned vets are fully accredited to issue these documents.

Pricing

To obtain an Animal Health Certificate, your dog typically needs to have undergone an examination, been microchipped, and received a rabies vaccination. Please note that each of these services is priced individually. If you need to obtain this certificate with less than 48 hours notice, there's a surcharge of £100.

Export health certificate

£400-£

Description

An EHC is needed if you’re travelling to a non-EU country with a dog or cat. The EHC is the document completed by our Official Veterinarians to allow you to travel. Please note that you will need to complete an application form via a government website before the EHC can be issued. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of travel to Australia and New Zealand, we do not complete EHC forms for these countries.

Pricing

This includes a pre-form consultation to discuss travel requirements, and a follow-up consultation to complete the form. Please note that any additional blood tests or treatments are not included in this price.

Anal gland expression

£30.9-£

Description

If your dog is dragging their bottom or showing signs of discomfort, anal gland expression may be recommended. When the glands do not drain properly, fluid builds up and can cause irritation or infection. Our vets can quickly express these glands to provide relief.

Pricing

This flat fee covers the anal gland expression itself. If our vets identify any underlying issues with your dog’s glands during the procedure, we'll discuss additional treatment options and costs with you in advance.

Nail clipping

£14-£

Description

If your pet's nails are becoming overgrown or catching on furniture, a nail clipping is recommended. Regular clippings help keep your pet comfortable and prevent issues with walking or scratching. Most pets benefit from nail trims every 2-4 weeks, depending on their activity level and how quickly their nails grow.

Pricing

This flat fee covers the nail clipping itself. If we identify any issues with your pet's nails during the appointment, we'll discuss additional treatment options and costs with you in advance.

Annual vaccination (cat)

£80-£

Description

Maintaining up-to-date vaccinations is crucial for your cat or kitten's health and helps protect other local pets as well. It’s also an opportunity for us to check on your pet and identify any early signs of illness before they develop into more serious problems.

Pricing

This includes a comprehensive health assessment of your cat or kitten by a vet, along with the administration of any necessary vaccinations.

Kitten vaccinations

£115-£

Description

Administering a full course of vaccinations to your kitten is essential for their health and helps protect other local pets as well. We also carry out a thorough nose-to-tail examination to ensure your kitten is thriving.

Pricing

This involves a detailed health assessment of your kitten by a vet. It also includes the administration of the necessary vaccinations to keep them safe. For complete protection, your kitten will require 2 to 3 vaccination appointments over a few weeks.

Rabies vaccination

£105-£

Description

Rabies vaccinations are not required for cats in the UK, but they are typically needed if you plan to take your cat abroad. The rabies vaccination is effective for three years.

Pricing

This involves a comprehensive assessment of your cat's overall health, carried out by a vet. We then provide your cat with the necessary vaccinations to keep them healthy.

Neutering

Explore castration and spay for cats and dogs.

Castration (male cat neutering)

£135.40-£
Offered atLondon Fieldshub

Description

Castrating or neutering your male cat prevents them from reproducing and helps to prevent undesirable behaviours such as wandering and urine spraying. We recommend you speak with a vet whether to neuter a male cat. For kittens castration typically happens around four to six months old, after they have completed their primary vaccinations.

Pricing

Most cat and kitten castrations have a fixed price. If we identify any reason why the cost may be higher after your consultation with a vet, we will inform you beforehand.

Looked after really well

Ella was spayed on Tuesday and I was dreading it - however, it was straightforward and she was not stressed at all. I stayed with her while she was anaesthetised and again when she came round. We were both looked after really well. The follow up was good and she is healing fast.

Vets are lovely and very helpful

My dog had a full dental cleaning with anesthesia and x-rays — I was able to be there with him while he was put to sleep and when he woke up, which made the whole experience much less stressful for both of us! The vets are lovely and very helpful. They are also very transparent with pricing.

Reassured before the procedure

They clearly cared for my cat so well when she got spayed. They kept in contact with me via WhatsApp to check in post-op, and even answered questions to some of my worries to help put me at ease before the appointment. Plus they sent me a photo update of my cat once she had got settled ☺️

We felt very welcomed

We are so happy to have chosen Hello Vet for our cat's neutering. We felt very welcomed — all the staff were very friendly and kind. We only got the amount of medication we needed so we weren't over charged. Very pleased with the service. Thank you for making me feel you cared about my cat.

Nervous dog

My nervous dog had to have an operation today and they looked after her so well, kept in touch with me and did such a neat and tidy job removing a mass from her mouth. Exceptional service!

Quick diagnosis and compassionate aftercare

A big thank you to all the staff at Hello Vet for taking great care of my dog Boris when he ruptured his cruciate ligament. From the quick diagnosis to having the operation at the surgery and compassionate aftercare. Thank you!

Emergency surgery handled

I cannot thank Alex and the team enough for the most incredible, caring and informative way they handled my dog's emergency surgery yesterday. They made a very upsetting and emotional day as best as it could have been. Eternally grateful 🙏 recovering well already.

Set the bar high for other vets

We recently got two kittens spayed at HelloVet. One of the kittens experienced complications from an after-op infection, so we were in several times over a few weeks. The service we received was outstanding. Every vet we met was attentive, compassionate and seemed very knowledgeable. They have set the bar high for other vets.

Checked in via WhatsApp

I explained via WhatsApp that our kitten had eaten a rubber band, and even before we got there they were already in contact and helpful… The next day they contacted me again to check how the kitten was doing.

Helpful treatment plans

I was sent a treatment plan straight after, which was really helpful — I've always said vets should do that, as it's hard to retain the information in the moment.

Questions you might have

Do you perform surgeries in all of your clinics?

We only perform surgeries in our hubs. These are our larger clinics which are kitted out with state of the art surgical theatres. You can find your nearest hub listed on your local clinic’s location page.

Do pets stay in the clinic overnight after surgery?

Pets who have had surgery are typically discharged and return home on the same day as their surgery. If your pet requires overnight care, you’ll need to arrange transport from our clinic to an out-of-hours clinic. We can put you in touch with our trusted, local out of hours provider and our team will give you all the information you need to make this as smooth as possible.

Can I stay with my pet the whole time?

You're very welcome to stay with your pet as we check them over, administer the sedatives and prepare them for anaesthesia; and also to be there as they recover and wake up aftwards.  Of course if you'd rather not stay that's completely fine, and your pet is held with the same care regardless. The procedures themselves are carried out in sterile operating theatres or in diagnostic areas where it is not possible to accompany your pet. Our prep areas are fully visible from most of our consult rooms, so you can see our team at work.

Is it safe for me to be present while my pet is sedated?

In most cases, yes. Your presence often helps your pet feel more relaxed as they settle and fall asleep. Occasionally, if your pet becomes very stressed or has an unexpected reaction to the anaesthetic, we may gently ask you to step out of the room for their safety.

What if I find it upsetting to be there?

There's no right or wrong choice here. If at any point you'd prefer to step away, just let us know. You're always free to leave the room, and our team will take it from there. Some people stay for everything; others prefer a hug at the door. Both are completely normal.

Can I be there when my pet wakes up?

Yes. Once your pet is safely through their procedure and beginning to come round, we'll bring you back to be with them as they recover, so a familiar voice and a familiar touch are some of the first things they sense.

What if I don't want to stay at all?

That's absolutely okay. You can hand your pet to us with complete peace of mind and wait nearby, or head home and we'll keep you updated. Choosing not to stay doesn't change anything about the care your pet receives.

How is surgery at Hello Vet different?

We've rethought every step to keep your pet calm and cared for. From a gentler approach to settling them, to welcoming you to stay by their side as they fall asleep and wake up. You can talk it all through with our clinical team in minutes to understand more.

Who looks after my pet during the operation?

Your pet is cared for by our clinical team and monitored continuously from the moment they fall asleep until they're safely awake. They're never left alone.

How long does the whole process take?

Our procedures vary in length depending on what we need to do, in most cases your pet will need to be with us for 3-6 hours. You are welcome to collect them later than this if it is easier for you, just organise this on the day.

What kind of anaesthetic do you use and is it safe?

We tailor the anaesthetic to each pet following a pre-surgery health check. During this check, we'll guide you through the procedure and make you aware of any risks associated with the anaesthetic and the procedure itself.

What should I bring on the day?

You are welcome to bring a familiar blanket or toy if you wish, and if your pet requires any regular medication while being with us or is on a special diet please bring a portion of this along as well.

How will I know how the surgery went?

We'll keep you updated once the procedure is completed, and our team is reachable on WhatsApp if you have any questions or need reassurance while you wait. We can also share videos of your pet for you while they're recovering until they're ready to come home.

Do you do second opinions?

Yes. If you would like a second opinion with one of our Registered Veterinary Surgeons or Registered Vet Nurses, speak to our clinical team and they can help guide you on the best course of action. It is vital that we receive your pet's medical history prior to the appointment.

Will I get a quote or estimate beforehand?

Yes - you will receive an estimate before any procedure so you know exactly what to expect. If you have any questions our clinical team are on hand for advice.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

While we do not currently offer payment plans, our team is happy to explore and discuss the care options and costs with you

Do you accept pet insurance?

Yes - we accept all insurance providers. However direct claims depend on the case, and we will let you know upfront how we can proceed with your insurance provider.

Is the initial consultation included or charged separately?

For cat and dog neutering or spay procedures, your initial consultation will be refunded upon payment after the procedure. For other, more complex procedures, we ask that you book in a consultation for an overall health check beforehand.

Can I speak to someone before deciding?

Yes off course. You can speak to our clinical team to ask anything and understand how we care for your pet. There is absolutely no commitment needed. You can ask for advice on WhatsApp or call us directly.

How do I book?

If you would like to proceed, please reach out to our team, on WhatsApp or by phone, and we'll guide you through the next steps.

Does registering mean changing vets?

While we will reach out to your existing vets to get your pet's medical history, you are welcome to continue using your existing vet services alongside Hello Vet. Whichever is best for you and your pet.

Do I need to provide my pet's medical history?

Yes - we must receive your pet's medical history from your previous and most recent vet clinic in order to understand their overall health. You will receive an email with instructions on how to do so upon registering.
