At Hello Vet, we offer a range of diagnostic services to help us better understand what may be affecting your pet’s health.

Our diagnostic services include x-rays, ultrasound, blood tests, faecal analysis, and more. When needed, we can carry out diagnostic tests to build a clearer picture and guide the most appropriate and effective treatment for your pet.
We know how worrying it can be when your pet isn't feeling their best, and we're here to support both of you every step of the way.
Cytology is the examination of individual cells, typically collected from tissues, skin lesions, ears, or bodily fluids. We often use swabs or fine needle aspirates to collect samples, which are then examined under a microscope to help us identify infections, inflammation, or abnormal cell changes. In some cases, for a more detailed evaluation, we may send the samples to a specialist pathologist at our external laboratory.
Our in-house diagnostic equipment allows us to test for a variety of intestinal parasites, such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms. If your pet has more complex symptoms, or if we require a more comprehensive parasite screen, we may send faecal samples to our partnered external laboratory for further analysis.
We offer in-house blood testing using advanced analysers, allowing us to perform many routine tests quickly and efficiently — often with same-day results. For more specialised tests or panels that require advanced analysis, we partner with a trusted external laboratory. This ensures we get accurate, comprehensive results to help guide the best care for your pet.

We can perform a variety of in-house urine tests, including specific gravity measurement, dipstick analysis, and basic cytology to look for crystals, bacteria, or abnormal cells. In more complex cases, or when results require confirmation, we may send urine samples to our external laboratory for expert evaluation by a pathologist.

We offer a range of in-house diagnostic services including blood tests, urine analysis, cytology, and faecal analysis. We also have a dedicated x-ray suite with digital radiography, and offer ultrasound imaging. For more specialised tests, we partner with a trusted external laboratory to ensure you get accurate, comprehensive results.
We’ll always share cost estimates with you before running any tests, so there are no surprises. Your vet will talk you through the options to suit your budget.
Yes, in most cases. We can provide an itemised invoice for your insurer, and our team is happy to help guide you through the claims process if you need support.
For some tests, such as certain blood panels or ultrasounds, it helps if your pet hasn’t eaten beforehand. We’ll let you know if fasting or any other prep is needed when the test is booked.
For many in-house tests, including blood panels and urine analysis, we can often provide results on the same day. For samples sent to our external laboratory, such as specialist cytology panels, it may take a little longer. Your vet will let you know what to expect when the test is recommended.
We will message you with your results. If needed, your vet will walk you through the results in a follow up appointment, and make sure you understand what they mean before deciding on next steps.
It depends on the test. Most tests, such as blood tests, urine sampling, and cytology swabs, do not usually need sedation.
For X-rays, sedation or general anaesthesia may be recommended to help your pet stay still and ensure clear images. However, if your pet is calm or sedation carries extra risk, we may be able to proceed without it. Your vet will assess your pet and recommend the safest option.
Yes. For more complex cases, we work with trusted external laboratories, specialist pathologists, and expert radiologists. This allows us to arrange advanced blood testing, detailed cytology review, and specialist X-ray interpretation when needed, helping us give your pet the best possible care.
Once the results are available, your vet will explain what they mean and discuss the best next steps for your pet’s care. We understand how worrying it can be when your pet is unwell, and we’re here to support you both throughout the process. If you have any questions in the meantime, you can contact our clinical team on WhatsApp.
Sometimes test results aren’t completely clear. If that happens, your vet will talk through the next steps with you. That might mean repeating the test, taking another sample, or trying a different type of test. We’ll guide you through the process so you feel confident moving forward.
For many tests, you’re welcome to stay with your pet. For others (like x-rays), we may need to take your pet to another area of the clinic. We’ll always keep you updated.
